Anne-Marie RUGGERI
was
born in the Ain (a French
department) in 1948.
She is an autodidact oil
painter. Passion is the
starting point of her work.
Later, she has refocused on
the pastel chalk technique.
Since 1989, her permanent or
punctual exhibitions in more
than 20 art galleries in
France and abroad have
settled
her activity as professional
painting. In her
atelier-gallery in Bonnieux
(Vaucluse), Anne-Marie
receives her collectors and
friends from the five
continents.
Technique used by
exigent
and wilful painters, pastel
painting has set up Anne-Marie
Ruggeri as a referent of
Provencal Figurative Art.
There are neither easy effects
in her work nor flattering
"gesture". In order to keep
the notion of mystery, she
breaks trough the subject so
as to merge with it and tends
to integrate and reproduce an
emotive process through her
paintings. Emotion acts like a
wave which submerges the
painter and the subject so
that they become one.
Besides,
Anne-Marie does not position
as the centre but more
precisely as the tool or the
attentive vector of a creative
process.
Why so much humility at the
disposal of her art?
Here is her answer: ? A work
can't be ? good ? only because
I made it, but sometimes it
occurs that while I am doing
it, it makes me reach and
build the best of myself ?.
