Nicole AVEZARD followed an unusual pathway: After achieving a doctor's degree in fluid mechanics in 1977, she finally devotes herself to theatre and painting. In 1988, as an actress, she created two famous characters known throughout France - Les Vamps.
As an autodidactic painter, her creations came into being in a very spontaneous way, giving her paintings a personal style. Humor, color, light and imagination are the essential ingredients of her paintings, which seduces the general public and numerous collectors, as well as art galleries and international art exhibitions.
In Nicole AVEZARD's surrealism one can find all the unjadedness of our childhood's dreams. The characters that take center stage in the artist's paintings are plump and dynamic women, named: "Les Josianes". They mirror felicity and waggishness, and even if they seem being naive, they will live to the full their little girl's dreams.
